Heavy cast and seamed acorn tops and faceted plinths, likely Philadelphia. See Girard College (Philadelphia) comp, Schiffer Brass Book, pp. 48 E (likely same maker). According to Shiffer: “The looped legs have a lot of style, original concept, and a carefully executed step about their penny feet.” These are elegant, unique, and exceptional quality andirons suitable for a large hearth fireplace.

CONDITION: One dog has well executed brazed repair. Otherwise very good.
