DESCRIPTION
Knitting sheaths were used to stabilize right hand needle in English style knitting. This “goose-wing” type would have been used affixed to the right hip; the diagonal slot was to hold rope or belt to affix to the waist. Glass window likely bears the name of the owner, M Clark. This fine and rare piece was possibly made around Durham in Northeast England, first half 19th century
