Unique Old Baroque Type Violin circa 19th Cent

$0.00

SIZE
Lower bout 9 1/2 inches; Upper bout 6 1/2 inches; scale 13 inches; total length 24 inches

DESCRIPTION
Unique and maybe one of a kind instrument. Lute-like shape. Possibly baroque inspired though scale and neck set are of modern proportion. Fine precise workmanship. Gorgeous wood. I suspect continental origin but no label and I could find nothing even remotely similar.

Large instrument has broad and relatively low arch top. Plays easily with nice mellow tone and abundant volume. Nice instrument. Needs good strings and better setup. Show up at the next jam session with this object-- they will think you are the Earl of Wessex.

No case but I will carefully double box and make sure it arrives in perfect condition.

CONDITION
Minor graft repair on lower fingerboard. Otherwise excellent and sturdy with no cracks; no repairs.  Please examine photos carefully.

Feel free to call me for discussion or concise in-hand condition report.
