Antique Boxwood Clarinet dated 1866

$0.00

SIZE
case is 12 inches long. Instrument is 18 1/2 inches.

DESCRIPTION
Fine early Boxwood clarinet with polished horn fittings. There is a scripted makers mark which I cannot decipher. (I would greatly appreciate a headsup if anyone recognizes this makers mark). The case is utterly incredible. Elaborately carved fruitwood with owner's monogram and date. The owner obviously adored his instrument. Judging from the carvings he loved music but may have been a blacksmith by trade.

CONDITION
Missing two-- possibly three keys. I think the holes were filled to make it playable without them. The case is missing a brass latch. Overall well traveled but woodwork is very sturdy. The pictures tell the story.
