DESCRIPTION
Five slat armchair circa 1775. Seat height was possibly a custom order. Post turnings would have allowed for 17” seat height. Exceptionally fine and rare chair in near mint condition with early, possibly original dry varnish finish.

A similar example came up on the Road Show in 2009.

I highly respect Keno’s knowledge re American furniture as well as market value. But I’m inclined to note that nice paint is NOT worth $6-$9K.

CONDITION
Recent splint seat. Aside from that this chair is in exceptional condition— no apologies.
