SIZE

DESCRIPTION
Khurasan or Northeast Kurds. This design is known from Housego (pl 137) and other tribal rug texts as "Hawz" or watertank. design.. an eastern Kurd rendering of formal gardens composition. Only one medallion here; otherexamples more often have three medallions. Wonderful and charming smaller motifs with abundant abrashes. A really delightful, artistic old rug and honest ethnographic example of Kurdish weaving.

CONDITION
We have seen a couple of these over the years-- always heavily worn. This one is is in remarkably good condition with no repairs or exposed foundation.
