DESCRIPTION
Round base rod pushups having the unique feature of adjustable telescoping plinths. Gentle and Field (1975; English Domestic Brass) show a similar pair with square base, which they date circa 1800 and characterize as “an example of ingenuity and inventiveness in the last decades of the 18th century.” I would date these circa 1810-20. ex Roger Speth collection.
